A New Start

I have had a few hectic weeks with the book release, my son home for Easter and because of our store moving from locations.  My daughter-in-law and I own a store together called The Homestead.
For a year we sold items for the home from a tiny little space above a shoe store.  It was a wonderful year and an adventure into the world of retail.   But as with everything there is always a good and a not so good side.  As much as we developed a lovely following our store continued to be missed by many because of the upstairs location.  We had no large windows to show displays or attract passers by.
About two months ago we received the news that the shoe store was moving to it's larger location after 28 years.  So needless to say after much thought, calculating, discussing and prayers we have decided to take the larger space and attempt to create a spectacular store on a much larger ground floor location with three very large windows to create displays in.
This is a sneak peak.
We have been working around the clock to transform the space.  We have divided our items into hand made, usa made, local artists and vintage and farmhouse items.
We are so excited and I wanted to share part of it with you.
Our grand re-opening will be at the end of this month complete with a ribbon ceremony and everything.  More to come.

So beautiful! At first I thought it was an image from an antique store in rural England - SO CHARMING and timeless. I wish I could stop in for treasures.

Hi Lisa,

WOW!!!! This looks fabulous. What a huge job. Is everything in the store things that you have purchased for re-sale or do you have vendors with booths? I bet the window displays will be beautiful.
